What is Orthodontics?
Orthodontics, is a branch of dentistry, that deals with the treatment of structural or acquired disorders in jaws, and teeth .The etymology of orthodontics comes from the Greek orthos, meaning to “straighten, perfect or proper” and dontos, means “teeth”. and dental tissues, aims to eliminate tooth and jaw problems with a personalized treatment approach, taking into account the age of the patient.

Treatment of impacted tooth
Upper canine teeth usually remain impacted in the mouth. Orthodontic treatment is required to maintain the impacted canine tooth. With orthodontic treatment, first the teeth other than the impacted teeth are aligned, and then, with a small operation performed under local anesthesia, the impacted tooth surface is reached and the attachment that allows us to maintain the tooth, which we call the button, is attached.

Treatment with clear aligners via Clear Correct(Straumann)
In clear aligner treatment, transparent plates that can be easily put on and removed from the patient’s teeth are used. Thanks to these features, it is more comfortable and aesthetically advantageous than fixed treatment. In addition, since transparent aligners are produced specifically for the individual, it can be easily determined how the teeth will look at the end of the treatment.

Surgical orthodontic treatments
Defects in the jaw and face may be congenital or may occur later due to accidents and diseases. The incompatibility of jaws with each other and with respect to the face causes both aesthetic, functional and psychological disorders in patients. These disorders can be corrected with developing technological applications and plastic surgery applications.

Space maintenance appliances
If the decidious tooth needs to be extracted before the age, a decision should be made to make a space maintainer to prevent space loss. After the impression is taken by the dentist, technicians prepare the space maintainer. After That space maintainer is applied to the patient’s mouth by the dentist. The space maintainer must remain in the mouth until the permanent tooth erupts.

Night guards
Night guards are used to prevent tooth wear caused by teeth clenching. They can also be used for retainers following orthodontic treatment.
